Lionsgate wanted to offer several MySpace user skins to promote their film The Eye. Unlike an official profile, these template would be provided to users as two code segments that they could then use to skin their own profiles. The skins are based on the "div overlay" method that hides all of MySpace's standard components, styles the page, then brings back certain parts of MySpace functionality (friends, comments, etc) that are desired within the design, essentially making a page that doesn't look like a MySpace page. This type of template is difficult to program, largely because it must play well with and sometimes override MySpace's notoriously uncompliant code. I designed and developed this skin using HTML/CSS and Flash. View the link to see a development profile with the skin implemented. This skin is no longer supported and may not integrate perfectly with MySpace's latest build.
